Future of Home:

Collaborated with Samsung Research America in Fall 2022

Project Overview

Throughout the Fall 2022 semester, I took a senior studio class that was partnered with Samsung R&D team to research current home trends and design and test innovative user experiences, envisioning future households with smart home appliances. I collaborated with a team of fellow classmates to research the trend of houses and present a concept that is tailored to future households.

Role

As a UX Designer, I worked with my classmates, executing the research on the social context of the housing trend. My team was impressed by how a home has been to humanity over time with the recent Covid era, in which people were on lockdown and distancing policy.

In the ideation phase, my team of three maximised our skills by allocating responsibilities to effectively deliver the poster for the conceptual product envisioning the future residents’ needs.

My Impact

I contributed to having the team research and identify key trends and present the analysis of current trends on behalf of my team to Samsung’s cross-functional team.

While executing product concepts and designing the poster for the presentation day, I worked closely with a team of three, designing the poster that demonstrates the benefits of the product for the future household. While figuring out to demonstrate my teammates’ mockups and drawings on the poster, I constantly seek feedback on the layout and content of the poster via Figma to assist the whole team in pitching the work to the audience.
